Rachel Coffey leads the strategic vision at Initiative UK, guiding the agency’s culture-rich and empathy-led approach to strategy and innovation. Since joining in June 2024, she has prioritised inclusion and cultural fluency, championing a 0% gender pay gap across UK media brands and advocating for strategists who think beyond the algorithm to elevate under represented voices. She has driven the agencies focus on innovation and inclusion helping secure over 15 award wins for Initiative this year including a Cannes Lion for corporate purpose and social responsibility for Bupa.

She describes media as an “empathy engine”, where strategy is not about impressions, but about perceptions, about connecting with humans on a deeper, more meaningful level. She has led Global and UK accounts such as Nike, Unilever, NatWest and Red Bull and her approach to strategy centres both on creating cultural visibility and ensuring seamless consumer journeys, where every touchpoint, from retail media to AI-enabled discovery, matters.
